General Haulage

RTS provide a variety of HGV’s including curtain-sided rigids ranging from 7.5 tonne to 26 Tonne (GVW).

Rigid Curtain Sided

Curtain-sided vehicles offer the perfect choice when you need the capacity of a large box body, and at the same time provide unrestricted access whilst loading and unloading. All vehicles are fitted with tail-lifts allowing the driver to load and unload himself.

Curtain Sided Trailers

Curtain sided trailers offer the same flexibility as our curtain sider rigids but can transport a larger volume of goods to a GVW of 44 tonnes.

Pallet Delivery

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you guartantee delivery times?

As you may know roads and ferries can be unpredictable. Because of this we simply can not guarantee delivery timescales but rest assured we work hard to make your transit as rapid as is possible.

What is an oversized pallet?

Standard Pallets’ are 120x100cm and ‘Euro Pallets’ are 120x80cm. Anything bigger than this would be classed as oversized or if your goods overhang the pallet (not recommended unless the goods are sturdy) it would also be classed as oversized. If possible it is best to keep the height to a maximum of 220cm as anything taller may not fit through the doors of many standard vehicles. Our oversized pallet quotes are calculated on the exact measurements of your load so you will not pay for more space that you use.

When can you collect?

For domestic pallets and Exports, we can sometimes collect same day If booked before 10am. On most occasions though collection will be next working day and for Imports it is best to allow 2 days.

Can I track my shipment?

Yes, we can provide a tracking link in many instances. If not available our service personnel can keep you updated on transit.

Do transported goods need to be on a pallet?

If your goods are small and lightweight and can be moved by hand or by forklift then it may not be necessary for them to be on a pallet. However, most of the time a pallet is an essential setup for transit.

What is kerbside delivery and collection?

Kerbside refers to the position and availability of goods at the point of collection or delivery. Collections must be from a place that is accessible by the vehicle. With delivery goods will not be moved any further than the kerbside position once off the vehicle.
